We're FSA and HSA Eligible

Coop has partnered with Flex, allowing qualified customers to purchase eligible sleep goods using their HSA or FSA debit card with pre-tax dollars.

What is a qualified customer?

The IRS oversees HSA and FSA eligibility and dictates that a customer must have a medical condition or disease that they are seeking to treat or manage with Coop pillows. Customers must have documentation that confirms their eligibility, also called a Letter of Medical Necessity. Not to worry, Coop has partnered with Flex to make this a quick and easy process for customers.

How do I use my HSA/FSA to pay for Coop pillows?

At checkout, select Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA as your payment option. You will be prompted to complete a brief telehealth consult to confirm your eligibility to pay with HSA/FSA. From there, enter your HSA or FSA debit card details and complete your checkout as usual. If you don’t have your HSA or FSA debit card handy, you can also complete the checkout with a regular credit or debit card.

Four-step checkout process for purchasing an adjustable pillow, including payment options and HSA/FSA eligibility confirmation.

Within 24 hours of your purchase, Flex will email you both a Letter of Medical Necessity as well as an itemized receipt. Keep these documents for your records should your HSA/FSA provider or the IRS require additional documentation.

That’s it! For more information, check out our FAQ below or reach out to our customer service team.

What is an FSA or HSA and what are the benefits?+
An FSA (Flexible Spending Account) and an HSA (Health Savings Account) are both tax-advantaged accounts for medical expenses, but they work differently. An FSA is offered through your employer and lets you set aside pre-tax money for costs like prescriptions and copays, though the balance usually has to be spent within the plan year. An HSA is available with a high-deductible health plan and is more flexible, since unused funds carry over from year to year.
How can I spend my FSA or HSA funds at Coop?+
Choose “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA” at checkout, enter your card details, and complete your order as usual. If a purchase needs its eligibility verified, simply follow the prompts to finish a short telehealth consult over chat.
I’m not seeing HSA or FSA options show up at checkout. Why not?+
This usually means none of the items currently in your cart are HSA or FSA eligible. If you believe that’s a mistake, please contact our customer service team.
I keep being pushed into Shop Pay. How do I use my HSA/FSA card?+
If you’re repeatedly directed into the Shop Pay checkout, we suggest completing your purchase in a private or incognito browser window.
Why was my HSA or FSA card rejected?+
Just like any credit or debit card, an HSA/FSA card can be declined if any of the details are entered incorrectly (card number, expiration date, ZIP code, and so on). Flex will let you know at checkout if a field is missing or wrong so you can correct it.

The most common cause is insufficient funds, so check with your HSA or FSA provider to confirm your available balance before trying your purchase again.
How can I view my documentation sent to Flex?+
You can review and download all of your documentation directly from within your Flex Portal account.
I don’t have an HSA or FSA card. Can I still use my HSA/FSA funds?+
Yes — you can still get reimbursed for the purchase.

Select “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA” at checkout, and instead of an HSA or FSA card, enter your regular credit card.

Flex will then email you an itemized receipt, which you can submit to your HSA or FSA provider for reimbursement.
What is a Letter of Medical Necessity?+
A Letter of Medical Necessity (LOMN) is a document from a healthcare provider explaining why a particular treatment, service, or piece of equipment is needed for a patient’s health. For an HSA or FSA, an LOMN is often required to get reimbursed for expenses that aren’t clearly listed as eligible under standard IRS guidelines.
Who is Flex and what is their relationship with Coop?+
Flex is our partner that makes it possible to use your HSA/FSA funds on eligible purchases. Think of Flex as an alternative payment method, much like Affirm, Klarna, and similar services.
